Ready Set DC Fashion: District , The Show, April 7, 2010

The Show
fashion:district will take place on Wednesday, April 7th at View 14, a new, luxury apartment building at 14th Street & Florida Ave NW. Doors will open at 6PM. We will be activating the rooftop (with breathtaking views), 3 penthouse apartments and the lobby level courtyard. View 14 is four short blocks from the U Street Metro.

THE SHOW
The runway show will take place on the rooftop and start at 8PM sharp. What you need for spring will be presented by Commonwealth, Derringer Friday, DURKL, Redeem, Treasury and Universal Gear. See ticket info below.

THE SHOPS
Two of the 3 penthouse level apartments will contain pop-up shops. Bored of Trade, Derringer Friday, DURKL, Redeem, Treasury and Universal Gear will have all of the fashion and inspiration you will need for Spring. Worn Magazine will also have a surprise for attendees!

The Art
The fashion photography of DC-based photographers Joshua Yospyn, Nicole Aguirre (of Worn Magazine) and Jodi King will be exhibited. Hamiltonian artist Bryan Rojsuontikal will showcase art installations, including the actual rooftop runway itself (!). No Kings Collective will also showcase fashion themed works.
THE DRINKS
Complimentary drinks will be provided at various bars thanks to Pabst Blue Ribbon, Firefly Vodka, [yellowtail] and HobNob. There will be plenty at various bars throughout the space. Please note that the entire event is 21 and up only.
THE MUSIC
DJ Boris Gluck will be spinning on the View 14 rooftop, handling the sounds for the runway show as well as before and after. DJ Sean Peoples (Sockets Records/FATBACK) will keep the party going in the beautiful lobby level courtyard (with a sculpture garden!).

THE TICKETS
Due to limited space, there will only be 100 tickets available for the rooftop runway show, $14 each. Get them here! The slightly cheaper tickets ($9) get you access to the fashion photography exhibit, art installations, pop-up shops, great music and all the alcohol, just not the rooftop while the runway show is live. You can also get them here.

THE AFTER-PARTY
We have to close up shop early at 10PM (residential building!). After the event, you are invited to stumble down 14th Street to Marvin for the official after-hours social.

Shannon will perform throughout the evening around the plaza and demonstrate cutting-edge streetdance moves on the mainstage. The ongoing freestyle dance sessions will be shot and mixed live by VJ Glytch (NYC) with live feeds to three large-scale video installations.

Warehouse Theatre Free For All, Friday March 19, 2010 at 5pm

On Friday starting at 5pm we are holding a "Free For All" at the Warehouse and I think you are going to want to be there.

We are embarking on another round of improvements at the Warehouse Theater - new bathrooms, dressing rooms, etc. - and its time to find a new home for much of the stuff that we have accumulated over the last 14 years. We have lots of furniture to give away, plus a piano, an old kegerator, housewares, assorted building materials and flats, and much, much more!
